Ardmore Shipping Corporation today announced that its latest newbuild vessel, the Ardmore Chinook, was delivered by Fukuoka Shipbuilding Co. Ltd from their Nagasaki shipyard in Japan on 17th July 2015.

The Ardmore Chinook is a 25,000 DWT IMO 2 product and chemical tanker. Her addition to the Ardmore fleet increases the number of Ardmore vessels on the water to 21. Technical management of the Ardmore Chinook will be provided by Thome Ship Management Pte Ltd.

Commenting on her delivery, Mark Cameron, Ardmore Shipping’s COO, said:
“We are pleased to welcome the Ardmore Chinook, sister ship to the Ardmore Cherokee and Ardmore Cheyenne, to our growing fleet. We extend our gratitude to Fukuoka Shipbuilding for their commitment and professionalism throughout the build process. The addition of the Ardmore Chinook realises our continued commitment to building a fleet of modern, fuel efficient and high quality vessels. We wish the Ardmore Chinook and her crew ‘fair winds and following seas’ as she goes on to fulfill her long and successful service within the Ardmore fleet.”

As with the Ardmore Cherokee and Ardmore Cheyenne, the Ardmore Chinook is a high quality eco-design vessel, fully equipped with a variety of fuel-saving measures, including Skysails vessel optimisation software, and offering the highest standards of performance for our customers. With an average age of under four and a half years, the Ardmore fleet is among the youngest in the industry.

This is the third of four newbuild vessels to be delivered from Fukuoka Shipbuilding this year and Ardmore looks forward to continuing to work closely with Fukuoka Shipbuilding on the remaining vessel in the series due for delivery in the last quarter of this year.
