Ardmore Shipping is pleased to announce promotions for several key team members into new roles, as part of a realignment of its commercial team.
Ardmore places great emphasis on supporting the professional development of its employees, promoting from within, and nurturing talent within a diverse, inclusive team. Aiming to enhance business co-ordination between the eastern and western hemispheres and the growing market for sustainable cargoes, Ardmore has refreshed the structure of its commercial team, which has led to the creation of a number of exciting new roles and promotions.
Ardmore has promoted two commercial leads from within the chartering team: Holly Cummings, currently Chartering Manager based in Ardmore’s Houston office, will become Head of Commercial (West) with overall responsibility for the company’s chartering activities in Europe and the Americas. Gerald Tan, currently Chartering Manager in Singapore, will assume the corresponding position as Head of Commercial (East) in charge of Ardmore’s commercial activities in Asia and the Middle East. Gerald will also step up as General Manager for Ardmore’s Singapore office and thereby take on an important leadership role.
In addition, Ardmore Shipping is creating a new role titled Manager, Carbon & New Markets, which will be filled by Steve Laybourn, currently Chartering Manager (Europe). In this role, Steve will develop commercial opportunities for Ardmore related to emerging trades and new cargos. In close coordination with the chartering team, he will also assume ownership of understanding and coordinating trading strategies related to carbon legislation.
Gernot Ruppelt, Chief Commercial Officer, Ardmore Shipping said:
“At Ardmore, we strongly believe in providing opportunities for our staff to grow professionally and to thrive, supporting their development, and promoting from within whenever possible. It is gratifying that this refreshed structure has enabled once again the progression of several of our talented colleagues. Our markets are transforming rapidly, with more change on the horizon in 2023 and beyond, and I’m confident that we have the people, the culture and the structure to thrive.”
“We have a diverse, high performing commercial team. These new roles will enhance strategic coordination across our regions, and increase our access to new trading opportunities, while we maintain our core strength to act swiftly and decisively. We have also managed to fortify our presence in Singapore and the Asian markets, a vitally important region for Ardmore.”
