Ardmore Shipping has successfully completed the delivery of all six MR product / chemical tankers that it agreed to acquire earlier this year.

The sister ships are 49,500 deadweight tonne (DWT) Eco-Design IMO 2/3 MR product / chemical tankers constructed in Korea by STX Offshore and Shipbuilding Co. Ltd.

The first delivery in mid September was of the Ardmore Endurance, Ardmore Explorer and Ardmore Engineer – built in 2013, 2014, and 2014 respectively.

Shortly afterwards, the Ardmore Exporter and Ardmore Encounter were successfully delivered in Hong Kong and Dubai, UAE respectively. Both vessels were built in 2014.

In November 2016, Ardmore took delivery of the sixth and final tanker. The Ardmore Enterprise, built in 2013, was delivered in Trincomalee, Sri Lanka.

Ardmore would like to extend its gratitude to the various stakeholders that worked to ensure a smooth and safe transition of all six vessels.

Commenting on the deliveries, Anthony Gurnee, Chief Executive Officer, Ardmore, said:

“We are pleased to welcome these high-quality, modern MR product / chemical tankers and are confident that they will complement the wider offering of Ardmore’s current fleet, and enable us to continue operating to the highest technical and commercial standards.”
